i've noticed most people use 3x for 20 yard paper. ive used 2x,3x and looking to use a 6x lens. but the 6x lens is very blurry up close. i think it's more for 60 yards to 90yards. im still trying out different dots/pins. havent decided what i like best.

i think if you get up in the 6x area you need to get a "clarifier" peep to make things not blurry. i was just at Jakes and i had a discussion with a guy on this exact issue. he was buying a clarifier for useing a scope.

most people I know use a 6X with a large black dot.  Many use a 4x and use it for everything.  Some use a clarifier peep with the 6x because of its clarity issues.  but the clarifier can distort your picture so they stay away and just shoot it fuzzy.

Indoors I use a 4x lens, a #1 yellow clarifier that has a 1/32 aperture, a big fiber dot that I light up on my sight set-up.  I use a lens and a clarifier so I can shoot without wearing my glasses.  When I am shooting outside I remove the lens and clarifier and put in a regular aperture.

I have tried to shoot indoors with a clarifier.  But my super peep in is hooded.  I get alot of issues with it being too dark.  So i took the whole thing out and put in a tru peep.  I am not great at shooting paper.  I can hit the 90's consistantly.  but I need to do something different so I am better at punching a little tighter.

is this because of a glare issue?

"is this because of a glare issue?"

------------------------------------------------------

Don't get me wrong I can use the lenses and clarifier outdoors with no issues from glare, for some reason I like them off when I am outside.  Also I put in a very small peep, smaller diameter than my clarifier.  Man I love those interchangable peeps from specialty archery.

Hmmm.... the clarifier causes it to be dim?  I haven't run into that issue yet.  The only thing I had was the lighting indoors doesn't always light up the pin fiber.  That is why I made and installed a light system to light up the pin better.  Once I did wow what a difference.

I have some friends who don't use a clarifier because they claim it can distort your sight picture??  Have you ever had that problem??
