I have for sale an ALLEN model 7306 mfg in 1975. The bow is a piece of history and comes from the man who changed archery forever H.W. Allen the inventor of the compound bow. It is in very good and all original condition (original finish on riser). It in perfect working order and is very shootable. In fact its a blast to shoot. Weighs just 3.9 lbs, 40 to 50 lb DW (set at 50), 28" to 30" DL (set at 29"), LEFT-HANDED. The bow has completely toolless adjustablity. If interested please PM with any reasonable offers or post questions about the bow.

Yes, his first real commercially available bow had its first ad in Archery World June 1967. It had laminated limbs, but is basically the same bow. The bow featured was made available in 1973 and was his Hunter edition. There was also a target edition which had the laminated limbs.

there is a pawn shop in tooele that had several "4 wheelers" for around $25. i think most of them  were Bear. the last time i was in there they were all gone. i bet he just chucked them, because they were there for years. i never did consider the collector value. what do you think this Allen is worth?

Anything is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I have seen Allens go from $75 (in need of much restoration)to over $500 (pre-1970s bows).
This is a six wheeled bow as were all the early compounds as they were manufactured under the Allen license and pretty much did not deviate from the original design. It is sad to think that any bow would be chucked. I have some old Bears one is one of the early economy bows from Bear the Whitetail Hunter, great little bow.

there is a thread in "stories, sightings, and reports" that we started called "the good old days" why don't you  throw up some pics of your old bows, restored or not, and lets have a look. that would be cool.

Wow.. I have a Jennings (mint condition) in my garage that i swear has never been shot.  It has all of the build info and everything with it.  It is also a 1975 it is left handed and doesn't have an arrow mark on it at all.  it has the wood laminate limbs and everything.  I love the sticker....  "Bow of the Future" on the pocket.  This bow doesnt even have a nockset on the string!  Who would have thought that there would be a market for antique bows like this.  We were given it by a man looking for bows for his wife that was given to him from another guy.

Thats a great bow to keep (The Jennings), the fact that it is in pristine condition is very cool, very rare to find vintage compounds that have "really" not been shot much or at all. Most of the bows I see on eBay that are claimed not to have been shot have simply been refinished. I have one of these bows myself, a pic of the bow is in Stories,Reports and Sightings in the "Good Ole Days" post (page 3).
So, hang on to your Jennings...do you mind posting a pic of the bow.

Hmmm.  Who'd of thought that old wooden bow would be worth more than some of the modern compounds.  I guess it is a bow of the future huh??  LOL Grin
