DXT...
It is no secret.  It is simply gap shooting.  You just have to figure out what the pin gap is at the various yardages and put a sight tape up your bow riser.  That is the basic idea, but then it gets a little more complicated.  Believe it or not, a 45 degree angle is not the best angle for distance.  38 to 41 degrees will give you the longest shot.

How far can you shoot an arrow?  Depends upon  the bow and the arrow.  Single cams used to dominate in distance, now my binary cam outshoots everything I have matched it up against.  Feathers are the worst for distance, small plastic vanes are the best.  Feathers can give you up to 100 yards less than vanes with the same arrow weight.  With the right combination, I can get about 500 yards with my Elite, around 425 with my Mathews.

I use Judo's, rubber blunts and field tips when I play.  Mostly use Judo's.  A couple of years ago I threw in a flu flu.  Depends upon the distance and back ground (back stop).

I usually use old repaired carbon arrows for my golf.  When they break, I splice them together and then shoot them.  If I break them again, it is no big deal as they were already broke and a lost arrow to begin with.  I also use some Beman arrows I won, and old Easton  Axis arrows.  In my opinion, they are junk arrows and I would never buy either again.

I see allot of guys pull out the re-curves for golf.  What ever you use I would use your old arrows and a blunt or judo tip.

home.

The old beman arrows work really well for the splce.  Remember the original carbons beman put out with the outsert?  They slide really nice into a carbon shaft.  As long as the break is not further up the arrow than 3 or 4 inches, I will splice them.  Cut a 2 inch piece off the beman, epoxy 1 inch into one end of the shaft and the other into the other.  Let it dry and go shoot.  They aren't quite as durable as a whole shaft, but they are durable enough to shoot golf.  Eventually the epoxy gives way and the pieces will slide apart due to the heavy impacts, but have yet to have one snap.  Really shouldn't snap as the arrows are rated for the poundage I am shooting, and it is a 1 inch piece, not a 30 inch shaft, so the flexing or the stress is about 0 on the splice, especially on the end.  Sometimes I will splice the nock end, except it makes the arrow a little nock heavy, so FOC can get a little whacky.  They are even more durable though.  I've got some repaired arrows I've been shooting for a few years now.

Call me a coward but I'm not going to splice an arrow. It just seems like too much could go wrong. This was probably a spliced arrow.

plan on coming to the Hardware Ranch on the weekend of April 25th, this is a two day event
with 30 3D targets and all the golf you can shoot.
come and camp for the weekend and plan on coming to the Saturday night Dutch oven potluck social that will be held in the Visitor Center.
the golf is only $5, and if you shoot the 3D the golf is free.
Archery golf is a great time to spend with kids
hope to see you all there

So for all of us who haven't spent all their lives in UT, where is Hardware ranch? Sounds like an awesome shoot.
